Jonas Fisher

Jonas Fisher is a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in San Francisco, California. Fisher regularly performs as a soloist, chamber-musician, and with large ensembles in the regions of Minnesota, North Dakota, and California. In the fall of 2018, he made his international debut in Shanghai, China with the UND Piano Ensemble. At the University of North Dakota, Fisher performed with the Section 17 New Music Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, and the Clarinet Quartet.  Compositions by Fisher have been performed throughout the U.S. and internationally in China and Japan. Fisher attended the Junior Composer's Institute for three summers, 2013-15, at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus. His composition, Credence, won first place in the Minnesota Junior Composer's Contest in 2015. Fisher was most recently the composer-in-residence with the Red River Trio, a piano trio that toured the Midwest and Japan in the spring of 2019. Fisher is currently studying composition with Mason Bates at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in pursuit of scoring for film. Outside of music, Fisher loves to be outdoors, drink tea, and spend time with family and friends.
