Lauren Bydalek

Lauren Bydalek is a multi-faceted musician based out of Lincoln, Nebraska. She graduated with honors and high distinction from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, earning her bachelor’s degree in May 2018. Lauren appreciates composing in a variety of musical styles, including classical, jazz, film, and songwriting. Most notably, this includes Life Through Color, a singer-songwriter EP, and Postcards from the Land of the Rising Sun, an Undergraduate Honors thesis for Chamber Orchestra. Recently, Lauren has been focusing primarily on choral writing, including recent commissions and performances from Choral Chameleon, the Young New Yorker’s Chorus, University of Nebraska – Lincoln, and York College choirs. Upcoming performances and commissions will feature the International Orange Chorale of San Francisco, Wahoo High School, the Nebraska Choral Director’s Association, and Sing Omaha. Lauren currently lives in Lincoln, Nebraska and attends UNL Law School. However, she still finds time to compose, as well as help lead music at Citylight Church, sing with Sing Omaha and a local vocal jazz quintet. Lauren lives with her husband, Colten McCauley, and their border collie, Elvis.
